You might be hearing Sportsnet commercials talking about their new website being responsive. What does this mean you might ask. Well it means that your website has been designed to render a different layout depending on the screen size. This means for a desktop you get the full website but for mobile phone you get a slimmed down version showing you just the most important Calls to Action. For many businesses, responsive design is cruical to securing that new customer. Most online software services or SaaS (software as a service) give you a jQuery mobile responsive version of there website when visiting so you can quickly do tasks, log in, and take care of business without having to pinch and zoom. You may notice a slight difference between a website's mobile version and app but that bridge is being built daily and mobile web apps are quickly becoming the way for some of the largest companies in the world. Look at LinkedIn for instance on your iPhone then look at it on your desktop then compare the LinkedIn app (that you download from the store) to the mobile version. They are almost identical but you will notice the app is slightly quicker, better animations but in many instances, quite similar. We feel in the two years this bridge that we see now between apps and mobile web apps will be level.
