Solid State Drives vs Hard Disk Drives

Solid State Drives vs Hard Disk Drives

Solid State Drives (SSD) have been increasingly appearing on cloud servers and are possibly the hard drives of the future. Traditional Hard Disk Drives (HDD) have a hard time keeping up processing speeds as they have reached the maximum potential for speed. SSD drives on the other hand can serve up content at a much faster rate, use less power but come with a higher price.

With software applications becoming more powerful pushing big data and using greater server side processing we see SSD drives as the way of the future for server builds. Our dedicated and some shared servers offer SSD and are blazing fast ( with large enterprise applications) in comparison to HDD. The question really comes down to what application or website you are looking to launch online. If it’s a standard website then HDD will work. If your application is looking to grow, scale and a integral part of your business then SDD might be a good consideration.

"Red Cherry was a fantastic firm to work with for our web design and SEO needs. From the initial quote, through scoping, design, and final product, the process with Dan and the entire team was excellent. We needed to take our website to a more polished level, and keep lots of key functionality, including specific tools to our industry - Red Cherry was able to do it all! Highly recommend their approach and work product."
