Its official, Google’s latest Panda update has hit the search engine world and has started to roll out updates as of May 20th, 2014. Panda 4.0 is Google’s latest algorithm which has been designed to seed out poor quality websites and help high quality websites reach top rankings in search results. The Panda 4.0 launch has also come with a payday loan refresh, targeting spammy queries, which has resulted in higher than normal damage control for SEO and webmaster teams.
So why the announcement for Panda 4.0? Speculation of Google’s announcement has been that Panda 4.0 is a completely new algorithm rather than a simple update or modification possibly changing the way search engines identify sites and rank their content. With the launch of Panda, only a couple of days ago, we are already seeing major differences in search engine results causing great debate. SEO teams are especially in on the conversation as they try to figure out what has changed in the algorithm, and what they need to do to continue to rank their websites. The payday loan refresh has especially made things harder as it is difficult to differentiate between the effects of the refresh versus the affects of Panda.
For the most part, people who have rich content websites shouldn’t worry about these changes as they will be noticing a bump in rankings; however, we will have to wait and see how Panda pans out to really see the full effects of its changes.
